We now are looking to our friends, neighbors, local business owners and project supporters to help us raise funds for the third unique arboreal sculpture by Houston artist Tim Glover and the final components of this phase of our project. “Light Garden” will complete the dynamic, modern artistic element complementary to the natural beauty of the native gardens. The final sculpture piece will also make the Roundabout memorable unlike any other landmark in the city of Houston. By day the sculptures, reminiscent of the metal products industry once so prevalent along Washington Avenue, reflect sunlight on their steel surfaces. By night the sculptures are symbolic of the high-tech and modern setting that Houston has become.

In 1998, a group of private citizens, working closely with the City of Houston, established the Washington on Westcott Roundabout Initiative, Inc. (WOW) as a 501(3)(c). Today, the WOW Roundabout is an innovative multi-stage, multi-faceted project which is creating a catalyst for a signature corridor for Houston along the three-mile stretch of Washington Avenue between the Roundabout and the western edge of the Central Business District. This unique attraction celebrates the history of Washington Avenue, provides a walk-able, park-like setting planted with Texas natives, and moves traffic more efficiently than ever with the first modern roundabout in the City.
